Getting Started
Set up your webcam and start your first game of webcam Magic in a couple of minutes.
Getting a game going takes about two minutes. Here’s everything you need.
1. Position your webcam
Point your webcam at your play area so your cards are clearly visible. A top-down or over-the-shoulder angle works best. Good, even lighting helps detection accuracy. Avoid harsh glare on card sleeves.
2. Start a game
Click Start a Game from the homepage or nav bar. cardcast creates a fresh game and drops you into the join screen. No account required.
3. Import your decklist (optional, recommended)
Pasting a decklist from Moxfield, Archidekt, or MTGGoldfish tells detection exactly which cards to expect, making recognition faster and more accurate. See Importing Decklists for the details.
4. Share the link
Send the game link to your playgroup. Everyone who joins sees each other’s detected boards in real time.
That’s it. Focus on the game, and let cardcast track the cards.
