cardcast.gg is a tool for playing paper Magic: The Gathering with friends remotely. Point a webcam at your play area and our card detection identifies what you play in real time, so everyone at the virtual table always knows the board state.
Why we built it
Playing in person isn't always possible. Existing webcam play means squinting at a stranger's blurry stream and asking "what was that card?" every turn. We wanted the ease of paper with the clarity of a digital client — without asking anyone to proxy their collection into another app.
How it works
Our detection pipeline uses SIFT-based feature matching against the full Scryfall card database, accelerated with vector search, to recognize cards from a live video frame. Import a decklist and detection gets even faster and more accurate.
